La Salle Institute is proud of its historic and competitive athletic programs. Now, we are proud and excited to welcome girls to participate at both the individual and team levels. Although it will take time to field all of our women’s teams, girls at La Salle can immediately participate in sports such as cross country, indoor track, track and field, golf, swimming and bowling. Sports listed as Varsity (V) only are open to students at all grade levels 7-12. Starting in 2021, sport teams with an asterisk (*) will be phased in over time and at every level depending on female student enrollment and interest. It is our goal that we have students participating and representing La Salle Institute in all sports at every level as soon as reasonably possible.

Welcome to La Salle Institute's Athletic Department

La Salle Institute currently offers fourteen sports with a total of 29 teams, competing with member schools of Section 2 of the NYSPHSAA. In September of 2021, La Salle will begin to phase in 9 additional female sports with the possibility of having 22 additional teams competing at every level as soon as reasonably possible. Our school has created a rich tradition of developing student athletes into leaders on and off the playing field.

La Salle’s athletic program is committed to a quality experience, highlighted by commitment, hard work, pride and teamwork. We encourage students to push themselves beyond known boundaries, regardless of knowledge or ability. The importance of integrity, sportsmanship and sacrifice in a competitive environment are at the core of our program.
Our coaching staff and student athletes take pride in La Salle's mission and the importance of leading as moral, responsible and productive members of their communities with a commitment to truth, honor and duty. The Athletic Department incorporates Christian values in their teaching and coaching philosophies to develop players who put their faith first in all that they do.

Hall of Fame

The La Salle Institute Athletic Hall of Fame honors past student athletes, faculty, staff, and friends who have brought distinction through athletics to La Salle and themselves.
