Our world needs strong leaders more than ever before—men and women who inspire others and boldly solve problems. That’s what our leadership curriculum is all about. It develops our students into the kind of leaders who are respected, trusted, depended on and admired in business and throughout our society. This program will now provide young men and women the opportunity to work together in a collaborative manner and be inspired to become moral, responsible, and productive members of their communities.
The JROTC Leadership program at La Salle nurtures personal growth by emphasizing the ethics and principles that foster good citizenship. The program inspires and provides opportunities for interested students to take on the challenges of leadership and to be responsible for those they lead. The leadership positions that our students hold help them develop self-confidence, personal pride, and a sense of accomplishment.
The formal leadership curriculum directly addresses preparation for the challenges of life. Upon graduation, our students are well rounded young men and women who have built a foundation for success in whatever they decide to do. Our formal curriculum focuses on the following topics and so much more:
- Active listening
- Ethical decision-making
- Communication skills
- Public speaking
- Project management
- Conflict resolution
- Career development
These lifelong lessons are taught in a classroom environment and practiced throughout the school by participation in extracurricular activities, service organizations, and on numerous sports teams. The experience that our classroom and practical leadership curriculum provides is the number one thing we hear from our alumni—the leadership lessons and real world skills learned at La Salle have made all the difference in their success.
