The History department at La Salle Institute is committed to teaching students to succeed in an increasingly multicultural, independent, technological and information-oriented world.
This is partly achieved through providing our students a greater awareness, understanding and appreciation of different peoples and cultures, especially in the non-western world. The History department believes in fostering this awareness and understanding through the study of various historical forces and cultural developments in selected societies. In addition, an understanding of the role and position of the United States in this quickly-changing "global village" is an important component of our curriculum. Understanding shared cultural values and the unique historical experience is fundamental to good citizenship.
