The Foreign Language department at La Salle Institute prepares students for success in a global environment by arming them with the gift of language. Mastery of a foreign language helps to train the brain to think critically and to come up with creative solutions, while aiding in college preparedness and readying students for success in an ever-changing world.
The primary language offered at La Salle is Spanish, however, select students with prior experience in Latin, French or German may continue their education via La Salle’s pilot Middlebury Online Language Program.
Students are required by New York State to take one year of Foreign Language. However, continuous language is preferred and looked upon favorably by colleges.
Honors and advanced placement opportunities are available. Students who show particular interest and ability may be eligible to earn college credit while still in high school.
