As a Lasallian school, we cherish the tradition of educational excellence inspired by St. John Baptist de La Salle, founder of the Christian Brothers and Patron Saint of Teachers. He viewed education as a ministry of grace and an effort to touch the hearts of students, especially those most in need; sharing the vision and values of the gospel through the collaborative efforts of teachers.
Every student at La Salle Institute is considered a member of the Lasallian “family.” La Salle strives to provide a learning environment where caring, concerned adults are dedicated to the development of each student’s attitude, skills, knowledge and moral sensibilities for the purpose of applying what the students have learned to benefit themselves and others.
Middle School Overview
The Middle School academic program is structured to give students a solid foundation for which to build upon. Varied curriculum allows for cross-departmental teaching to help bring concepts to life and to provide an opportunity for real-world use. The close-knit, “school within a school” atmosphere of the Middle School program allows students to take chances, try out new skills and explore future passions in a safe and nurturing environment. La Salle’s collaborative approach to education helps students to learn teamwork, critical thinking and leadership skills.
The goal of the Middle School academic program is to prepare students for the High School experience.
High School Overview
We understand that parents and students choose La Salle for the rigor of our academic program, which is why student-centered academics are the core of the La Salle experience. Students participate in varied classroom instruction, using technology in new and creative ways. Students are taught to become critical thinkers and to hold an in-depth understanding of all material being presented. To encourage academic excellence, a diverse selection of honors and advanced placement classes are available, with select juniors and seniors also having the opportunity to enroll in courses at Hudson Valley Community College to earn college credit while still in high school.
The goal of the High School academic program is to prepare every La Salle student for success in college and beyond.
