The Religion department at La Salle Institute focuses on two primary objectives: increasing student knowledge of the Catholic faith and helping each student grow in his relationship with God. La Salle’s Religion instruction is taught in compliance with the Bishop’s framework. While the curriculum is built on the doctrine and teaching of the Catholic Church, there is an emphasis on tolerance and respect for other religions as paths to God.
The goal of the Religion department is to develop the whole person and to raise awareness of each student’s spiritual dimension, moving them forward in the process. Students are led toward active participation and a life guided by faith and meaningful service to all.
La Salle offers religious education in Sacred Scripture, Moral Decision Making, The Church in the World Today, The Paschal Mystery, Exploring Religions of Our World, The Bible and Jesus Christ - God's Love Made Visible, and The Sacramental Life of the Church.
