Mathematics

The Mathematics department at La Salle Institute is designed to help students work toward mastery of basic  and high-level math.

In the Middle School, students work toward understanding basic concepts, along with the development of critical  thinking and analytical skills for advanced math. This includes studying whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, probability and statistics, proportional relationships and basic algebraic and geometric concepts.

In the High School, students master the concepts of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, probability and statistics, as well as apply theories to the above topics.

Members of the Mathematics department offer extra help before and after school, and during study halls, as well as provide opportunities for peer-tutoring. Because the department understands that abilities and needs vary among students, they utilize diverse teaching methods to reach each student.

The Mathematics department offers school-level, honors-level, advanced placement and college-level courses.
