The fine and performing arts program at La Salle is both curricular and extra-curricular. The intertwining of classroom work, theory, and technique with the performance application make it unique among the course offerings.

The Symphonic Band has two major school concerts (Christmas and Spring) and performs at the major school functions (Honors convocation, graduations) Most of the members of the symphonic band also form the marching band which is also an important part of the history of La Salle Institute. The symphonic band, as an extension of the JROTC program, has its own officers who inspect the high school members and perform the other duties necessary. In this respect, the band also functions as a band battalion.
652 – MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND

The middle school band can function independently from the symphonic band or it can serve as a training ground to develop technique in preparation for advancement to the symphonic band.
653 - JAZZ ENSEMBLE / ADVANCED MUSIC THEORY

Jazz Ensemble performs at both major concerts and prepares a select repertoire for competitions. In addition, the Ensemble responds to other requests for performances in the larger community. In addition to the music, members of the Ensemble are schooled in advanced technique and theory and are exposed to the many forms of jazz. Membership in the Ensemble is by audition and invitation only.
654 – THEATER ARTS
The Theater Arts program includes all aspects of stage production. Some students work in the performance process while others work on staging, design, and post production.

Studio art is a developmental course in which students are able to learn about various media and techniques and develop their own abilities. Students are typically at different points in their artistic experience. Development of a portfolio is expected.
