Student Transportation

La Salle is located adjacent to Hudson Valley Community College with easy access to I-90, I-787, Rt. 7 and Rt. 9.

Students within a 15-mile radius of the school have transportation provided by their school district. Students from the Albany school district use CDTA.

For students outside of the 15-mile radius, La Salle offers bus transportation at a prorated cost, both south to Valatie and north to Saratoga. Van transportation is currently under consideration for Schenectady. If interested, please contact us.

More information on transportation to/from La Salle

Maximum distance required by law is 15 miles from the student's home to the school that the student will attend. Requests from parents for transportation to a private school which is farther than 15 miles from the child's home will be considered in accordance with the provision of Section 3635 of the Education Law.

Once parents register their son at La Salle, they should contact their school district with regard to transportation. We do not register students - only their parents can. The guidance secretary mails out transportation forms as a convenience if they are sent to the school, however, it is ultimately the parents' responsibility to make sure their son is registered with their school district for transportation.

If the student is coming from Albany, there is a CDTA bus that comes directly to La Salle Institute. Note that it is not reserved specifically for La Salle students and we are merely on their route.
