Senior Army Instructor/Assistant Principal

Lieutenant Colonel Joseph B. Raczkowski is a La Salle Graduate and a 1978 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He holds a Masters of Science degree in Education from National Louis University. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College, the Army Air Defense Basic and Advanced courses, and the Nike Hercules Nuclear Missile Systems Course. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army JROTC School of Cadet Command Instructor Certification Course and Advanced Course.

Lieutenant Colonel Joseph B. Raczkowski currently serves as the Senior Army Instructor responsible for all aspects of the Army JROTC Leadership Program. He oversees the JROTC Department and is responsible for the efficient running of the program and motivating young cadets to be better citizens and productive members of society. He also serves as the Assistant Principal responsible for internal school activities and events.

Prior to becoming a Senior Army Instructor at La Salle Institute in 1999, Lieutenant Colonel Raczkowski  served as the Director of Plans, Operations, and Security at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. His other military assignments include: Director of Military Personnel and Plans Division, United States Army Europe and Seventh Army, Heidelberg, Germany; Battalion Executive Officer, 6th Battalion (Patriot), 43rd Air Defense Artillery, Ansbach Germany; Brigade Supply and Logistics Officer, 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Wurzberg, Germany; Plans and Operations Officer, Directorate of Operations, Plans, and Security, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York; Instructor, Air Defense Artillery School, Fort Bliss, Texas; Commander, A Company (Nike Hercules, Nuclear), 2nd Battalion, 56th Air Defense Artillery, Hasslock, Germany; Assistant Operations and Training Officer, 2nd Battalion (Nuclear Missiles), 56th Air Defense Artillery, Pirmasens, Germany; Platoon Leader, A Company (Nike Hercules, Nuclear), 2nd Battalion, 56th Air Defense Artillery, Hassloch, Germany. 

Among his military decorations are the Legion of Merit (2), Meritorious Service Medal (3), the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (4) and the Good Conduct Medal.

Lieutenant Colonel Raczkowski and his wife Randee have two daughters. Randee is a Special Education Teacher. Khyshan completed a Masters Program in Occupational Therapy at Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. and Palar completed a Masters Program in Special Education at Saint Rose College in Albany, New York. 

Lieutenant Colonel Raczkowski and his wife Randee currently live in North Greenbush, New York. Their daughter Khyshan along with her husband David and two sons, Luc and Rhys live in Atlanta, Georgia. Their daughter Palar lives and works for the State Department of Education in Austin, Texas.
